It’s all right if you haven’t been to any French libraries because you’ll find one much more interesting right here in Jakarta.
Behind the majestic pillars of Sampoerna Strategic Square’s South tower entrance, houses the latest gastronomy haven, fashioned in handsome woodworks, stunning floor to ceiling bookshelves and tall window panels that affords a little more than a glimpse of the busy Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.
The place itself seems low-key and effortless, suitable for lunch, a long drink, party with thumping pumping or an exquisite dinner for two after a long tiring day. The atmosphere is inevitably overwhelming with the monumental decor. The loud and courageous design of the bar stretches across half of the place whose merriment spills into the rest of the restaurant making each trip a glamorous affair on its own.
Rustic candlesticks, smooth marble surfaces of the tables and the 1920s New York style powder rooms are just among so many details which honed Bibliotheque to perfection.
In addition to its magnificent setting, the restaurant also has a broad wine list and menu that has potential to evoke a sense of revelation. The menu, which bridges the classically saucy decadence of French and the progressive derring-do of Middle-Eastern food, drew notice from the get-go.
